Finally, I had a meeting with my supervisor about my MSc project. The conversation is not bad for this and I learnt a lot from it.
First, I was given a clear direction about this project. Now I think that I can have full speed about this and there's some suggestion that the demo can be related to hardware...hardware, it sounds great and awesome. Well, I think that I will have to study about hardware.
I learnt couples of lessons today.
First, I told him that MSc is not really valuable for job. It's because other field can pick up the job. The suprevisor said that MSc is not for demostrating the ability of job. It's also had no chance to utilize 99% knowledge of MSc. It's a recognization of you are different from others. Ability of job is still depends on other skills. Well, I knew this before. But a University professor also said that , well , I take this.
Besides that, I has another lesson which iss really valuable for me. I told my supervisor that I have interest in parallel and distributed computing ( Well, it's just coincidence that he is in charge of this research group ). He told me that I did not necessary to study PhD even if I am interest in there. He told me that I also can pick it up and did it myself in my spare time. It is because the opportunity is too high for studying PhD. He mentioned that my career path should be rising. Spending time in PhD may sacrifice this. I also can study PhD again later OK, he is a Universtiy Professor. He could tell me that studying is not a bad idea but he didn't. He still could analysis to me that in another angle. I also take this. I think it twice why I have an idea to keep studying. It 's because my opportunity cost is still high at this moment. That's y I seeked for another path to fulfill appetite.
Furthermore, he told me about the selection of PhD candidates in University. As competitive is high, they mainly pick some people which is from other top universities. However, he also mentioned that a awfsome performance in MSc project would be beneficial in applying PhD
hahaha, just 30 mins. It's just like learnt it for a year
